Erin Malone

erin-malone

Erin has been a literary agent at WME since 2006. She is a graduate of Denison University and prior to books she worked in film and television development and production. Originally from the Midwest, she worked in WME’s NYC office before moving to Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband, a writer, and their two kids.

Expertise

Erin represents fiction as well as narrative (personal and investigative) and platform-driven nonfiction, and occasional lifestyle titles—primarily in the areas of psychology, science, culture, and food. In the children’s space she represents a small number of primarily illustrated books—picture and graphic novel.

More than any specific genre, she’s drawn to good stories and distinct points of view and looking to work with writers who make us think, as well as those who provide a great escape. In the fiction space, she loves plot-driven fiction with a wonderfully weird or absurd premise, intricate plotting, and/or an unexpected twist. She ascribes ardently to Carrie Fisher’s adage that “if life weren’t funny it would just be true, and that’s unacceptable.”

Among the clients she represents are #1 New York Times bestselling authors, major book club selections, Newbery Honorees. Thurber Prize finalists, Hugo and Edgar Award nominees, Fulbright Scholars, Goodreads Choice Award winners, and combinations thereof.
